4 Months

Little man is 4 months old today! At this golden age, Jace....

Is so much fun! He is very interactive, smiley, and squealy. He anticipates when he is about to get kisses or tickles, and when it finally happens, he gets the biggest, gummiest grin on his face.

Weighs in at 18 lbs 3 oz (as of a couple weeks ago), and wears 9 month clothes.

Holds the world record for chubbiest cheeks (unofficially).

Tries to hold his bottle and feed himself, with moderate success.

Is able to push his paci or bottle back in by himself when it falls out of his mouth, also with moderate success.
Straightens his arms and pushes his chest and tummy off the floor when we lay him on his belly.  He can't hold it very long, but go easy on the guy-he was only born 4 months ago.
Rolled from tummy to back three times a couple of weeks ago (all within a day or two)...then never did it again! He completely lost interest when he figured out how to do it. Now he likes to be on his back, so he can work on rolling over in the opposite direction. As of now, he rolls into his side and gets stuck there. So close!
Lifts his head, chest, hands, and feet off the ground when we put him on his tummy and immediately starts kicking and pushing. He looks like he is trying to swim away really fast, a la Michael Phelps (please make better life choices than Michael Phelps).
Catnaps. We're lucky to get a 50 minute nap during the day. He averages 30-40 minutes. Not my favorite.
Is able to turn his body so he is facing the complete opposite direction when I put him down. He stays in the same spot and just does a 180 on his belly. This trick comes in handy for him, because he loves the TV. No matter how many times I put him down facing away from the screen, he maneuvers himself so that he can see what's on. He will twist and move himself into all kinds of uncomfortable positions to catch a glimpse of the television. Sigh.
LOVES to people-watch, just like his Great-Grandpa Dee! Jace is most content when he is able to see what is going on around him. If he just sits and stares intently at you for uncomfortably long periods of time, don't be alarmed. He's just observing your ways.
Doesn't laugh yet. He prefers to release enormous squeals, accompanied by a gigantic smile.
Likes to grab the pages in his board books and try to turn them. He does this pretty well, actually.
Recently discovered his toes, but usually only grabs them when I lift his legs up far enough for him to reach...he's a little tubby for that trick at the moment. ;)
